Radha married Krishna. They were happy. They were very rich. Radha was beautiful. Krishna was handsome and athletic. Krishna had a Ph.D in Biochemistry from Harvard and an MA in Swedish Philosophy from Patna University. He ran a highly succesfull Call Centre making lakhs weekly. He was a fitness freak, played the Sarod brilliantly, was a recognized Mountain Climber and used to play Test Cricket for India. He was kind, generous, affectionate and showered Radha with everything, including water. He was equally at ease discussing the Vedas one moment and the dark writings of Kafka the next. They had two children, well spaced out (in more ways than one), who excelled at school, gymnastics, painting, swimming and ludo. Radha was a famous writer who wrote. Their night life was the envy of the neighbourhood, which was in a mega luxury Apartment Complex with all amenities including a clubhouse, swimming pool and a Gurkha guard.

But Radha suddenly left Krishna and started to live in relationship in the apartment below with a man twice her age whose sole passion was collecting stamps and had no interest in her. All he wanted was someone to make tea every fifteen minutes.

When questioned by the Apartment Owners Association President, Radha complained that that she didn't like the kinds of socks that Krishna wore. "Better to make tea and be a rubber stamp for a philatelist than tolerate a man who wears uncoordinated socks", she said, bitterly.

    Was Radha wise?
