Help needed in buying vaddanam

    Hi All,

    I need your help in buying a vaddanam...I'm planning to visit India this year end and have plans to buy vaddanam. But have lots of questions in head. I visited totaram website and found that there are 2 types -

    Traditional (Belt Model)
    Chain Model (which has chain in the back)

    Which is the good one also did any one buy it online or in stores also the prices in the website updated so I know if it fits my budget?

    Also please let me know when selecting what all should we look for?

    First of all a warm welcome to IL. Hope you will enjoy posting in this site.
    I always believe in evergreen Old but with a modern outlook. Belt model is the best because as its plate wll be strong so chances of breaking is pretty less for ages. I advice you to Go for some lakshmi idol or lotus flower in the middle which are hotselling.

    Hello Sathvik,

    My advise is to buy vaddanam by visiting shop rather than ordering online.Now a days fashion is chain model.It looks good than belt model.
    Approximately it will cost 2-3 lacs i guess.

    hi Preeti,

    Do not order online,go to the shops,totaram shops are there in india, check the model online, go to the shop and see how it looks on you,then decide.You can negotiate the price ,the best thing is, you will pay less than the price mentioned on website.

    Also regarding the belt or the chain model,i guess the chain model is modern,but its just my opionion.Since you are going for the big item,look for the stone studded onces and the last thing,buy the one you are satisfied with.
