Impon means panchaloha aka panch dhatu. An alloy of 5 metals said to have elaborate mention in shilpa shastras ... This is the only other alternate to gold and silver to make puja and bhagwan idols both for home and temples. There is also a mention of it in Mahabharata, that Krishna told Arjuna to wear panchaloha/impon in his body to channel all his strength and also gave him a panch dhatu shield before the war.
So it is claimed that wearing panchaloha ornaments gives a balance in life like how the five forms of energy are balanced on earth.
This is the reason its good to wear panchaloha ornaments.
