Nose ring - which side?

Hello!

I am new to the site and have a question about which side of the nose to get pierced. I am married to a South Indian man and have decided to get my nose pierced. Which side is traditionally pierced in South India? He is from Chennai (I am American) and doesn't remember which side is typically done.

hi kate. i am southindian ,now in dubai. good to hear this , we all wear in left side. its good and traditional.

Hi Kate,

Different parts of India has their own style and tradition of wearing nose ring(of course in everything). Tamilians (chennai-iate) wear on their right side.

i agree with inimai, as she said different parts of indian wear differently , as tamils in chennai wear on the right side ,& iam from chennai only, i think marwaadis(north indians) & muslims wear on the left side.
i have also got my nose pierced , i used to wear the nose ring on left side, but now , iam not wearing any nose rings.
i hope u came to a conclusion on which side to pierce.
