| Hi Vidya, I was also thinking about this 916 kdm when i went to gold souk with my guests from india. I didnt see the mark here in dubai. One more thing is the pure gold 22 and 24carat gold is very fragile and it can break whereas 18k gold is not like that, that's why diamonds are almost used with 18K gold. Here in dubai i found 18 K gold more expensive than 22k. Sorry vidya, you were talking about side effects, chemicals etc and me i am talking about purity, pricing etc. Bala |

| hi VS, Nice for sharing the info...look at the craze for 916 jewellery in india..... Bala you are right...22 and 24 is fragile...21 is little better...bangles are the most fragile ones when brought in ME... Vidya, on a lighter note..bahrain is the ornaments making hub of the middle east for most jewellers.....the making charges are lesser comparatively.... ..especially chains

what you said is true. wow amazing collections and designs and we get it for good price!!!!!!!!????????? as well as we can trust purity. one more thing i forgot to add in india we can find many ads telling rs 30/- less 40/- less like that per gram. according to the person who is a member of the team in hallmarking gold jewells in india told its all a trade trick he could bet for it that price and purity is directly proportional. always go for hall marked jewells. that is better and the gold soldered with copper is always better. regards vidyasundar |

916 kdm jewels are already banned in so many countries due to its hazardous effects. its good you dint find any. 22 carat gold is good as an investment and if you are sure that you are gonna keep the jewel and attracted for the esign then u can go for 18 carrat gold but resale value????????!!!!!!!!!!!! it doesnt mean that you cannot sell it you can but there will be big price difference ends up with loss. regards vidyasundar |

Enjoy. I feel.. the price of quality gold is the same all over..i think it is only our illusion that ME gold is cheaper..right...ok..maybe a 10rs difference..it is not much with the exchange rate going southward.. Yes. sometime back, a piece brought from a very reputed shop in chennai was tested and took for exchange at a very low rate...it does not even come to 21...something below that... AGain people are crazy about hallmarked 916 nagaigal. . yes we also feel the 40,50 less is a marketing gimmick..and some innocent guillible go and give their better quality gold ornaments...for exchange.....I think you can show the pattern and get it done from your local trusted jeweller ...again opinion differ.....

hallmark and 916 are different. you can always go for hallmark jewels since it is certified by govet of india and you can claim also if you find the purity doesnt match with the certificate. regards vidyasundar |

| hi vs, I know both are different..that is why i said because some of the ads go hallmark 916 nagaigal......

| Hi, I have a small basic query about 916 marked gold. Is 91 6 marked gold different from the 916 "KDM" jewelery? Or are they the same? I recently bought a simple pair of studs which just says 916. Thanks, Suma Last edited by starshine : 10th January 2008 at 09:17 PM. |
