    Hi,

I have been using Tiger tail wire 0.38mm to make jewellery preferably with small sized gemstones. So size of the wire never bothered me. Now I want to make a jewellery with heavy gemstones would 0.38mm tiger tail suffice? Will the wire break anytime with heavy beads?

I don't know how heavy your gem stones are. Generally it is said that for heavy gem stones and sharp edged stones tiger tail 0.38 mm that has 7 strands is good.

If your gemstones are big, large holed and you are using them for the whole necklace it is better to use 19 strands . With heavy beads the 7 strands might break or stretch.
