Default Trekking - Shimla

The summers in Shimla are quit pleasant as the maximum temperature rarely crosses 25°C. And the beauty that you will get to see that time is breathtaking. The greens on the mountains with the sunshine falling on it makes it look like gold.

Did you know that Shimla was declared the summer capital of the British Raj in India. Shimla is often referred to as the "Queen of Hills"

Just pay a visit there. and do let me know if anyone has ever been there?

Cool Re: Trekking - Shimla

Shimla is a nice place to visit in summer, away from the scorching heat in the plains; but it can be a blunder if you arrive there without having your hotel room booked. If you somehow manage to get one, get ready to shell out a good amount which I'm sure will make a big hole in your pocket. I love visiting Shimla during the winter with all the snow and trekking is definitely part of our elaborate plan for visiting Shimla.

Some of the popular trekking routes are:

Shimla - Luhri - Ani - Khanag - Jalori Pass - Jibhit - Banjar
Shimla - Narkanda - Hattu Peak - Chaupal - Kedi - Halau - Kandol - Koti - Chakrata
Shimla - Narkanda - Khadrala - Sungri - Devidhar - Rohru - Shimla
Banjar - Bathad - Sarahan - Arsu - Rampur - Shimla

I enjoy the experience. Do you?

Default Re: Trekking - Shimla

Shimla offers tempting trekking opportunities on the two trails over Jalori Pass and Bashleo Pass, which lead to the adjoining Kullu Valley and provide easy and pleasant walks. Buran Ghati trek, though not very common amongst trekkers, is an adventurous trek which leads to the adjoining Shimla Trek
Kalpa Valley.

The main trekking areas in Himachal are the Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges, routes over the passes between the Shimla region and the Kullu valley, the numerous treks out of Kullu and select tracks in the Trans-Himalyan regions of Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti.

These places are nice to trek. Can anyone provide information about day to day itenarary?

Default Re: Trekking - Shimla

Another lovely trek just beyond Narkanda goes northwest over the Jalori Pass (3,350m) in the Seraj region. You can start from the Ani village – reached by bus or jeep from Luhri in the Sutlej Valley below Narkanda – and trek into the lower part of the Kullu Valley, joining the Kullu-Manali road at Aut. There is a jeepable road over much of this route.

Though when we had gone trekking, we did not follow a day-to-day routine as we had planned because when we reached there it was so breathtakingly beautiful that we planned to stay for a day or two rather than moving out.

I hope someone might have the knowledge of day-to-day itinerary..
