Default Darbar Sahib

Darbar Sahib, situated in Amritsar, Punjab, is the most sacred temple for Sikhs. It is a symbol of the magnificence and strength of the Sikh people all over the world. In the evolution of the Darbar Sahib, is entwined the history and ideology of Sikhism. In its architecture are included, symbols associated with other places of worship. This is an example of the spirit of tolerance and acceptance that the Sikh philosophy propounds.

HAve you ever paid tribute in this gurudwara?

Default Re: Darbar Sahib

Traditionally, woman and children, and men sit on opposite sides of the diwan hall.

I have there once and i wish i can go there again.

The Guru Granth Sahib is placed on pillows, which have 'beautiful cloths' draped over them, which are on a raised platform that has a canopy. The cloths cover the Guru Granth Sahib when it isn't being read. These beautiful cloths are called Romallas.

Please do share experience with me, it will revive my old memories.
