LO is 5 months and 10 days old and I introduced the sippy cup this morning...I gave him some water (may be an ounce) and he drank it like a champ..The moment I gave it to him he held the cup with both his hands and started drinking from it..
I am so proud of him [IMG]
BTW, I bought the Nuby Grip N Sip sippy cup. Here's the link
    Toysrus.com Home - The Official Toys"R"Us Site - Toys, Games, & More
I like fact that the valve is built into it and not a separate one...

I am too excited so couldn't stop sharing with fellow moms :)

Yaayyy! for your LO's sippy success.

has he ever been on feeding bottles?? if not, sipper is a good start.. because it is little difficult to change from bottle to sipper. so straight to Sipper is a good idea.

Hey ... wow !! That sounds great!
    - Was he on feeding bottles?
    - When did he sit ?

This really gives me the hope that LO will also be able to do it !! Thanks for sharing, mridu!

Yay for the young one and yay for mommy. We loved our nuby to death. the spout is chewed to extinction, but DS still drinks from the cup.

    Arthidiva and Sumanr,

Yes, he is used to the feeding bottles...About 2 weeks ago both his 2 bottom teeth came in and he has been refusing to nurse longer than 5 mins that too only on one side..It was driving me nuts (It is still dirivng me nuts!!) and dropping my milk supply...So I had to pump and give him bottles...Now these too many bottles are driving me crazy...So I thought why not start the sippy cup transition and may be eventually just a cup...

Suman - LO sits assisted for few mins everyday...He does not sit unassisted for more than 1-2 mins...yesterday he lied down and used the sippy cup..

I will try putting some milk after few days of using it with just water..

    Mridhs,

    Bottom teeth already out.

That was a successful attempt @ sippy. DD likes her MEE MEE hard tout sippy cup.

Anyways if LO's are happy with anything there's nothing like it, puts back the smile on mommie's face :)

    Poonam,
LO was exclusively on bottles for the first 10 days of his life..He was in NICU because of Pneumonia...The docs did not permit me to breastfeed because LO's breathing was very heavy and they did not want to take any risk...I think I nursed him may be 2-3 times while in NICU...So he has been used to the bottles..But when we got home, I slowly weaned him off bottles but continued to give him only 1 bottle everyday..I did not want him to lose touch with that..

He did great oscillating between breast and bottle even when he was young and so far...
