well we started off here and then now do keep in touch via mail, FB etc., it's nice to hear from a new member that we seem like long time friends:)

how old is your DD?

i have 2 kids. my DS is 4.5 goes to pre school, DD is 17 months old. right now DS is sick...well he was alright last week but looks like the last bit of gastro virus is still troubling him. most probably tomorrow he stays home. DD is busy walking like a penguin. she's been late with her milestones and i was sooo looking forward to her walking. but now that she walks i'm sad that she'll not swim backwards, she'll not crawl anymore... moms! she was a brat today.. broke her brother's glasses, threw the one and only coconut i had saved and gosh it too broke, dumped 1/2 kilo of potatoes in the dust bin. now the last bit.. when i got upset about the potato in bin thing DS tells me 'amma be glad she didn't throw it in toilet'.. now that's some nice way to look at things. surely that isn't my genes:)

and the secret that you all promise never to tell anyone.. i didn't take shower today. i simply didn't have the mood. so there goes my sunday. wishing you all a wonderful, healthy week ahead...

My DS is coughing too, say 20 times so far, from yesday night. Today morning his poop was slight greenish and had lil mucus too... And to top it all, i saw 6red spots in his left cheeks, looks like one or two mosquitos had found their way into his net and munching on him whole night :(((((
As of now am giving T.Minic 0.2ml thrice a day and saline drops as needed.
Am a worried mom now!!! Need to call my paed in the evening and take him if she wants to...

Why do these babies fall sick anyway? God has made super plans reg pregnancy and BF. Why cant there be something like - Infants can never get sick?? The first yr of life is just abt nappy changes, BF and lotssaa laughter??? I know am ranting... I dont have any other outlet moms!!! Send in some nice words :))

PV – Strawberry milkshake is a better bet. Eat them plain they can combat even an orange. Strawberry sauce can be poured over vanilla icecream Voila! I don’t much like strawberries had them during my pregnancy.

Ramya – Praying that your LO gets well soon. Ramya sleeping on one side is fine, my DD was used to nursing on the left side. I had this problem with my DD too. DH was insistent that I keep her head straight. My DD has a flat head like my DH and round on the sides..........
Now you are learning to take breaks and enjoy Simpsons, that’s very much happening. I watched the entire movie “Raja Hindustani” yday. DD was on paracetemol due to high fever and she gave mama a break what say!

Pon – Looks like your holidays have gone well and you are back with a bang in the new avatar. Flower Dosas hah you are one lucky girl must say. Reminds me of having dosas in the flower garden J Hope DS gets well soon.

Nitha – My DD too has lost her appetite. Blame it on the medicines, the taste buds have gone for a toss. How is Chinnu’s ear?

DD’s update – DD has recuperated well. She was playing like a small cub all by herself. Happy days are back again. Like to see her happy. Thanks for all your prayers.

DS is slightly better today and have sent him to school. sometimes doctor visit is a blessing in disguise. he ate properly y'day.. i mean no refusing ANYTHING. and has been drinking water!!! he is a juice boy even though we dilute juice with water i always tell him he must get used to drinking water as it is. he's keeping count on his kakka trips.. poor thing has been told by his dad that poor eating = laxative at hospital.

V how is Aadhu? did you find out what caused those rashes?

Suman - how is your lo? poor thing.. i still can't forget the picture you had posted. praying she gets better soon.

Hey all - Thanks for the healing vibes, LO's rashes seem to be going off, but it may take 3-4 more days for them to completely vanish. Poor thing, she is on a/b and hardly opens her eyes. She did not feed properly y'day and today. Nights are horrible.... she keeps crying.

And V - I am not sure if it is diarrhea, but LO has been crying hard everytime she passes stools. She always has watery stools, so I am not able to conclude anything from it.

Ok, can someone tell me some easy to make/store and healthy snacks for a new mommy? I am very hungry these days, esp. at nights as LO never sleeps.

Tikka - DH had been to the event on Sat and supposedly gave a talk on Labour Support from a husband's point of view. We saw an article on the same in The times of India y'day.

Nice new userid/name, Pon! You are right, this is a very warm and friendly gathering. I've been here for about a year, some of us have been here longer. It sometimes feels like I've known people for ages when in reality I haven't met anyone face to face About children not getting sinck for the first year, isn't that nice wishful thinking? My DH would like kids to be delivered home about 6-7 years of age, after major infant worries and tantrums are past

Latha, Big A's sense of optimism is incomparable. I would be mad too if the potatoes land up in the trash.

Ramya for hunger pangs try sundals - they may be filling due to the protein (not sure if they make you gassy though)... Make ahead, just MW and eat..

All, I polished off one box of strawberries all by myself. Too lazy to make anything. Made a big smoothie for breakfast today morning. Have I told you all I am a dreadfully slow eater so I prefer drinking my breakfast so it can be gulped down? DH thinks I was a cow in my previous birth, I can't get over the chewing habit

Sorry for not explaining it earlier... I was into IL from July, with my real name. But later, after delivery, we named DS as Vishal and from then, i was eager to use this fusion name of DD and DS somewhere. When i figured out I cant change my usrname in IL, I came into a different profile alltogether. I am not sure though, if its ethical :) Moreover, i didnt have much posts in my older id...
DD is 3.3yrs old, goes to a pre-school till 12.30pm. DS 10weeks now :) Now send me some cheers, we got same real names afterall

DS same, congestion is lil better, but cough has increased. My paed is busy with some emergency schedules... cudnt meet her. Got to meet tomo. DD too has mild cough/cold... Life is too tough with 2kids, but everyday am discovering some tricks and tips in managing them :)
