Dear Vidhu,
My kid had it too when he was a couple of months old. I did apply Hydocortisone 1% and also the Aquaphor ointment( it is made by eucerin) , both together really helped and the eczema vanished after 3 weeks. not to return again. Please conitnue with the cortisone. topical application does not have any major side effects. The healing will be quicker and once the healing begins, youcan switch to aquaphor/eucerin.
So conitnue doing what the doc said.

Hi,
My kid also had eczema and i followed these steps and its completely gone
1. If u are using Johnson baby soap or body wash, stop using that and try mild soaps like dove(plain)
2. Always apply vasaline(petrolen jelly)
3. This tip is from my friend. If you are beast feeding, consult with your Doc to check if any of the food you eat is allergic to kid

Hi,
please stop using payathamaavu or kadalai maavu if you find problem with your kid. It does not work here in US. It is good to use them in India for the climatic condition there and may be not here... I have heard my cousin had similar problem with payatha maavu. These maavu might wipe the moisture completely from the skin (oil on the skin) and so skin appears very dry and it worsens due to the climatic condition here... But there in India, it is hot and we profusely sweat and moisture stays on the skin...You can try applying baby oil after giving bath to the baby. You can try using Aveeno baby wash etc... That was my paediatric's suggestion for my baby. I think you will definitely get some positive results.

Hello,
My kids also had ezcema.
I used to use auqaphor and very rarely Hydocortisone 1%.
Don't use besan. This might aggravate the problem.
Whenever you visit India, take the baby to skin specialist, they might give a list of use and donot use.
These kinds of problems are common until kids are upto 2 yrs.
After that these kinds of problems just vanishes.
DOn't worry,
Punitha
