Latha, I too see a lot of elderly people here struggling to shop at stores etc sometimes. In spite of the fact that I love the independence here it is tough to see these at times. I would say as long as your parents and in-laws are fit and healthy don't worry and don't feel guilty. For all you know going back and being physically close may make the relationship worse (with ILs I mean).

Hi to you, Meeta.

Vanathi, are your weddings over?

Krithika, hope the gardening is coming along nicely.

Raj, nice to see you back here. I did succumb to the baby fever, but only after P was 2.5 years

We are all now recovered from the cold-flu thing. P has moved to the pre-K classroom (4's class) and is showing interest in writing! V is trying to sit and crawl, so it is exciting times....

hey girls,

we went to dusseldorf for a wedding last evening. quite a long drive... 7 hrs with pit stops but the kids slept through most of the time. but so hard for me not to fall asleep sitting next to the driver. y'day i realised i prefer indian chai over coffee. just couldn't take the cappucino smell even!!

anyways we stayed in a lovely hotel and had a nice time at the dinner as well. the groom is an ex-colleague of DH... i really really enjoyed the surprise and awed looks on everyone's face when i made appearance in saree LOL!! too bad we couldn't stay till the desserts coz the kids couldn't hold any longer. met some friends this morning and drove back. now my whole body is aching. DH travelling a lot this month. i was into cooking so much the past 3 months and suddenly i have to cook for 1... hmmm challenging.

Raj,

so happy to have you back. I can see you in Riya... she has taken after you in socialising (and looks too ofcourse!)... so is your mom here next month? must be more fun...

thank you all so much for the encouraging words. i spoke to my brother on friday and he asusual cleared my mind. he's 4 yrs younger to me but has the gift of looking at issues by stepping aside..

Sindhu,

my relation with ILs can't get any worse. i'm only scared that me and DH would not enjoy the same companionship if we were to live with my in-laws

all have a good start to the week. i have tons to do but well these are never ending chores. it's autumn in the air.. suddenly chilly. A can't understand why he has to wear jackets now. and his sis screams the moment a cap is in sight... i too hate those layers!!!

Latha

Hi all... hope all are keeping well. Last couple of weeks have been crazy with M's cold and cough and finally had to start antibiotics as doc heard a slight wheeze. Of course then it was time for his vaccinations and that was even more traumatic on all of us. He's better now and we are trying to get some rest during the long weekend.

Raj, I seriously hear you girl!! Today a friend of mine found out that she's expecting her third one and suddenly I had baby fever... so did my DH but at least he was sane enough to tell me that he wouldn't have another kid if he had to go through labor!

Hi Latha, I've been really busy these past few days. Have just been able to take an occasional peek at IL...
Hope both kids get well soon... We just finished going over a round of cold/flu two weeks back and it was nasty. We are planning a week's vacation to visit my SIL later this month, and also planning an India trip late December. How's the weather there? Started getting crisp? Here it is a tad cooler...

Hello, Lavanya. Haven't seen you in a while here. Hope M gets better soon. How's your work coming along?

Latha, hope your kids feel better soon.
Sindhu, have a good time. Between work, home and M life just keeps getting busier by the day... With antibiotics M was finely okay and yesterday soon after he came home from daycare he was running a temperature... I really don't know what to think of this. He doesn't show symptoms from his past infection, so I hope this is some viral fever that'll go away in a day or two.

On another note, kindda sad news in general... people have resorted to burglary on larger scale due to economic recession. Even Indian students have been cited in these situations - they pose as though selling magazines etc, force entry into homes and take as much as they can. Inmates are often hurt when there's not much valuable stuff in the house. Some of my friends were victims of similar incidents too - very sad state of affairs indeed.

i'm sending get well vibes to all and self too. since last night big A has been sneezing and today he stays home (over-slept basically!).

Lav,

that's really sad. i thought the recession was receding? after all, when humans are in despair, no place is safe:( you all take care...

DH will be back tonight. hoping we'd get to meet our friends tomorrow. we were planning for a small picnic if the weather favours us.

Latha

This has been a busy week here too.

Lav - thats a bit sad - not to mention scary. Is M doing better at daycare? How's your work?

Latha - hope you have a better weekend and the kids get well soon!

Sindhu - you sound rather tired. Are you planning for some rest this weekend?

As for me Dh leaves for a week-long conference next week - hating the thought of it. Really dont know how I'm going to cope with the brat all by myself!

Latha - with you on this. Vinu too has a bad cold and restless nights. Waiting for the common cold to pass.

Have had a hectic week and am so glad the weekend' here. The maid did not turn up last two days and I had to wash the vessels, hang out he clothes, sweep up the house, complete my pending work at office and run behind V. added to this, the cooking as well... phew.. tough week. Was so glad when the maid did turn up today.

Regards,
P
