Is it okay to use Aloe Vera for bug bites in babies? Riya has a couple mosquito bites that are red and bumpy but she doesn't scratch it though, but I was wondering if I can use fresh aloe vera juice (I have a little plant sitting right next to our dining table).

If it doesn't bother her then don't apply anything.Try coconut oil.
I have no idea about applying aloe vera on babies
    Thanks

    Hi Raj

We keep Aloe Vera Gel in baby's bag, at home, carry it when we go holidays, picnics etc. It works magic on bruises, insect bites, burns etc. However I have a tube from Golden (GNLD) Products - I'm not sure which plant is aloe vera - since we have a few different types of aloe here. If the gel is applied on a burn it does not blister, the itchiness stops when applied on a mosquito bite.

So I'm sure it would do no harm.

    Regards Neesha

Hey Neesha, that's what I thought. I am such a clumsy person that I get bruised and atleast burn my finger once or twice a week, so it help having a pot sitting right in the kitchen. :-D But I wasn't sure if I can use it on the baby.

This is the kind we have.

    Hi Riya

I think it's safe to use cos the commercial preparations claim to contain 97% or more pure aloe vera. Your plant definitely looks like aloe vera. Here we also have aloe ferox which is a hardier plant but the uses are the same.
I googled a bit and copied some snippets for you.

    Hi Raj

Thanks! I'm not exactly new! I joined in September last year so it's gonna be a year soon. It's just that sometimes I'm so busy that I don't get a chance to post but it's an addiction to me and I sneak in whenever I can.

I'm from South Africa as you've probably seen. I'm working fulltime and have a 6 yr old son (Dhivashan) and 20 month old daughter (Mayuri).

I've seen pictures of gorgeous Riya!

    Keep in touch
