How to give ragi kangi for 6 months infants help me?( I gv her in this way b4 2 hrs I wil soak in water after that I wil grind with little water and boil that with water and give e her little bit thick watery stage in feeding bottle to her) Can we mix formula milk with it? Feel so depressed she is not gaining weight. Using similac as formula milk
@lat13 I know as a mom you're depressed but did her Ped raise any concerns on her weight? If not then just relax. As long as your baby is happy and healthy you should be fine. Do you strain the ragi after grinding it and then cook? That is how it needs to be cooked. You can serve her over spoon in thick consistency. If you're in US then try avocadoes too. Yes you can mix formula in Kanji.
,Thanks for ur reply. Actually I dnt knw whr I am wrong. I gv her FM more compared to breast milk(low supply) Morning at 8 FM At 10am ceralac 1 pm FM 2 pm ragi kanji 4 pm FM 6 pm ceralac Till she sleeps FM She sleeps at 10 ppm and walks up at 8 am in between some times sn she cries so I gv breastfeeding She is 6 months old but weight is 5.9. She looks so lean, help me plsss
@lat13 don't worry till your baby is putting weight. each child is different from other. .lean or chubby doesn't matter till they are active and healthy. my ped said to give gap for 2hrs in case of solid and 30min for fruit. you can plan accordingly. you can add fruits I gave banana and cooked apple
As long as she is happy and healthy be cool. Some kids are leaner than others. Perfectly normal. Try giving her some fruits as well. Scrape the fruit with spoon and feed her immediately spoon by spoon. No need to mash or boil simple and easy yet healthy. About raagi kanji: In my family we have a simple recipe. 1 cup Raagi 1 cup rice 1 cup moong daal Clean, wash, dry them separately then roast for a few minutes. Grind. Preferably at the floor mill just like atta. It stays good for a month or so. As and when you need to feed the baby Take half cup water half cup milk heat it to warm Add salt to taste Add a couple spoonfuls of the powder quickly stirring Keep stirring until its cooked through It changes color to darker brownish as it gets cooked and leaves sides Make it to consistency that your baby enjoys from kheer like runny paste to upma like thick. Remove in bowl and add tsp of ghee. It enhances flavor and makes it easier to digest as well. Alternatively you could add sugar instead of salt and make sweet version. Lots of love to the little one Happy baby happy mommy Vaidehi
@lat13 What is her current weight and birth weight? Breastmilk is more nutritious than anything else for infants. So if you have sufficient supply you should breastfeed instead of substituting with formula.
@lat13 By 6 months babies double their birth weight. I think your baby is well on track. As long as paed is healthy and active you should not be worried.
