    Hi

My 11 month old has 1 eye sensitive. Whenver I take her out, it starts watering. Initially I had thought its brightness or wind but even on sun down ( very low light out) and no wind, it waters.
Then I have taking her to pool ( salt water pools), her face outside water of course and I noticed her same eye is getting reddish ( not fully red though) and was going and coming back. Its been 2-3 days now. When we start feeling relief that its okay, it comes back.
Salt water could have affected both eyes. Her hair falling in her eyes, if hurt or cut, could have made it itchy. so what could it be? I am worried.

She is not itchy, running eyes, or mucous. Its not flu or conjunctivitis or pink eye. Ped said everything looks okay, and have given ointment ( in case) and sending us to eye doctor.
    Any experiences or ideas ladies.

Can those be allergies due to pollen?

I guessed so too as chitra does. Must be pollen... since it is spring. You can apply a few drops of breast milk in the affected eye. It cures the allergy in the eyes.

Hi ..I remember nurse came to check her vitals had suggested same thing that pollen could also be the reason.
@VanithaSudhir - Sadly that is not the option as she is not on my feed anymore.

So eye doctor said..everything looks normal and its probably because's her eyes and ducts/drains are still developing, she waters from 1 eye. Reddishness could be salty pool water.

We applied some eye ointment from ped ( erythromycin) but no use and stopping now.

Looks like pollen. My husband has the same problem water eyes with redness. His eye doctor suggested breast milk:) I highly recommend breast milk even though you dont feed her, if you still produce milk please take few drops and put it on both eyes couple of drops every 3 hrs, this should solve the problem. Normally any pharmacy you will get over the counter baby eyedrops. Please check that.
