My baby started crawling when she was 4 months old. She has completed 7 months now and her knees have become quite dark. Will she regain the original colour that matches up with the rest of her body? The knee portion alone has become quite odd. Kindly help
Hi, Just rub your baby knees with Olive Oil! [Entire Body is also good one] And Make her bath after 1/2 Hour. It will be reduced... Turmeric also good for this! But it must me Turmeric root not cooking turmeric powder!
The skin gets rough because of the friction (natures way to protect). When the crawling stops the skin will go back to normal. Skin may be darker at knees as it is kind of "wrinkled" to be able to stretch out when bending the knee.
@Rakhii: I dont how to say how dark it is. But if you see her, you can easily ask me " Why is her knees too dark" . That much difference is visible. Also there is considerable difference between her face and body colour. Face is light compared to the rest of her body. If I take her out and see under natural light, I could see her legs are slightly pinkish. (It's like as if its developing its colour). Should I have to take her to doctor or its normal?
Cutie, when in doubt always take her to the doctors. Actually, I would have said dont worry if the body is lighter than the face (sometimes because face is exposed outside, it tends to get a little dark) but since its the other way round, its better to seek a professional opinion. Nothing alarming, just wait for her regular check up and ask at that time.
Hi OP, I don't think you need to worry. Personally, my whole body color is quite darker than face. Same with my DD, her face is lighter than other parts.
My son has a fairer face and a darker body. His dad is pretty much the same too...dont worry about this. Most people's knee colors change once they start covering up. I remember having dark knees until I stopped wearing short clothes and started covering up my knees.
How about covering up her knees with leggings so they do not rub on surfaces a lot? Also keep it moisturized well.
