pacharisi ( raw rice) or pulungal arisi ( boiled rice) which is good for 9 month

    hi moms,

    in my inlaws home we cook raw rice for us. but my mom says boiled rice is healthier than raw rice.. so i used to cook boiled rice for my baby separately since i started solids..

    but now my mil is pressurizing me to give what we are eating that is cooked raw rice as she is saying that this rice is only she is going to have in future..

    am confused.. pls advise..

    My mom also says boiled rice is good..she says baby will get stomatch upset sometimes if we give raw rice

    @KAME Sister,

    Actually Pulungal rice in the long run is good, but as your MIL points out later if your kid gets used to Pulungal rice, then when you all eat pachaiarisi you will end cooking both, it is not that Pachaiarisi is bad for your kid, In our home all children including me were brought up with pachaiarisi only.

    Decide on one rice, dont confuse baby's digestive power, May Baba guide you always, SAIRAM

    Thanks mam for your advise... now for lunch i have given her raw rice only and going to continue with raw rice..

    Initially give raw rice when she is most active (lunch) and parboiled rice when she eats before sleep (dinner)!
    Gradually make transition!

    broken brown rice when they are small...after 1 or 1 1/2 yrs start giving pacha or pulungal arisi
