Though I don't reside in India now, but I'm a frequent flier so I'm fairly in the loop about toddler stuff available there. I too have a LO almost 4 yrs old.
Yes you do get humidifiers in India from brands line Chicco, Mothercare, etc. Since your kids will be there for a fairly long duration, I suggest you carry/buy all essentials including humidifier from home, if that is convenient to you. Don't know the price difference on humidifiers though.

Younger kids from abroad do tend to fall sick pretty easily; there's not much you can do about it really, except to watch what they eat/drink and where they go...& possibly limit their exposure to too many people (where unnecessary & easily avoidable). You're right, boiled water is very important throughout their stay in India, and even on the flights to & fro.
