Hi newmommy,
Cheerios is the best finger food. I tried cheerios to my daughter.
Kids like the taste and there won`t be any mess.

Thanks Ladies.This may be a stupid question.Should I just put the food in his tray and let him figure it out or should I show him how to eat.

My Ped had suggested to start with veggie and fruit puffs. You can make him sit in the table when you are all eating. Give him some cheerios or veggie puffs and he will see you and try to eat himself. Later on slowly you can start with bite size peices of rotis, idlis etc.

I have given my LO Milk Bikis and Marie. He can handle both very well (he only has 2 teeth), no problems. Just watch her very carefully the first few times in case of choking. It may not be a good idea health-wise to make it a regular habit at this age though.

I have a question wrt to finger food & breastfeeding. My kid does not have teeth yet but he turned 8 months. Can I start finger foods for him ? Also when do you suggest we offer the finger foods. Can we do it as snacks in between big meals ? Current schedule is as below
----
1st Breastfeed
=> Breakfast ( Oat meal + fruit)
2nd Breastfeed
=> Lunch ( Indian style veggies/dhal with rice cereal)
3rd Breastfeed
=> Dinner ( Fruit, Stage 2 readymade food, sometimes this is skipped)
4th Breastfeed ( before sleep)
5th Breastfeed ( 1st night waking and maybe second)
-----
Do I substitute one of the Breastfeeding sessions for finger foods ? When did all of you give up the intermediate Breastfeed session ( 2nd & 3rd feeding) and how did you do it ?
