We play peekaboo a lot. We also play the bumping heads thing (if you are Tamil its muttu muttu). This little piggy; he loves being bounced on my knees, being tickled, riding on my shoulders all around the house. This last mnth we got him a shape-sorter and he loves demolishing the towers I build with those blocks. We also put on music and dance together. Books - every night but he's only now starting to get interested so dont give up - your son will start liking them soon. I'm planning to get a little inflatable pool so he can play some water games this summer. His daddy loves to play "crash the stroller" with him - he whirls the stroller around and pretends he's going to crash it into furniture etc. - the two of them have so much fun with that! Waiting to hear from everyone else... Vanathi.

Hey... I have a 5.5 month old so, we don't play mcuh but we do lots and lots of talking...In the evening, for an hour I just play with her with toys. After that I put her in a high chair and than I work in the kitchen. At that time I do explain her each single act I am doing. Such as what I am cooking, ingredients, receipes. Than about the day. And I do make faces too. I think my little girl freind loves to talk with me. SHe listen to me like a very good listener and than give her opinion by cooing in between... I know this is not going to help you much as you are looking for game and you have a big guy...but wanted to add our secret receipe of love... ![]() Last edited by meeta shah : 16th April 2008 at 12:11 PM.

Awww, Meeta, that sounds so sweet. We do similar things too. She loves it when I make funny faces and sounds. And lately, she has started reaching out for our cheeks which is so cute. Sorry, newmommy, didn't mean to hijack your thread by talking about our 5 month olds.

Hi Girls ! Most of the activities that LO and I do are similar read books, explain my activities ( he loves when I foam tooth paste in my mouth), this little piggy.. round and round the garden ( tickle, tickle), walks, parks and swings ( covered all around so baby does not fall off). He loves peeka boo and funny faces in the mirror. Most of the time I make funny rhymes and he just cracks up as if he understands or we listen to a CD of action rhymes. Last week I bought those cheap bubble soluton and blowed some bubbles with him and he loves trying to touch them ( he is 8 months). We also do picnic in the backyard.. ( take a rubber sheet and put it in my back yard ) and let him play and explore grass. Planning to start taking him to the pool in summer or join one of those parent- baby swimming classes. Also he loves playing with paper ( just make sure he does not chew or swallow them) and old magazines. He likes watching other kids ( older toddlers) play and hearing their voices. Other planned activities : start sign language and also show pics of grandparents and aunts and talk about them.

hi newmommy, we play the same games too..peekaboo, reading books, playing music with pots and pans in the kitchen.. also we are attending this baby music course called kindermusik..they have differents modules for different age groups from birth to 7 yrs..one class a week (45 mins each) and a session is 2 months...about 10 -15 babies in each class.. uma and i are attending the first module of birth to 1.5 yrs since she was 10 months old....it is a lot of fun there is lots of singing, dancing and playing music related games...they give a home kit with a cd, a picture book and toys all related to the theme of the session... my baby has become very friendly and playful since starting this class..i think music is one of the best things to enjoy along with the baby.. u must have heard of the "mozart effect"!

Hi Newmom Its so nice to hear that ur son makes all those naughty things with his dad, i love it.. Even my son is too excited with his dad, so do with me We too play peek a boo although he doesnt understand, he just laughs when i take my hand away from my covered face. His dad plays "Catch" with colourful balls, throws balls beside him, that my baby enjoys.. I too play muttu muttu with my son. And i make some funny noises, he laughs for that I sometimes do sit him in my lap with his legs hanging so that i sing yaana yaana azhagar yaanai... and just rock him front and back.. My son is just 4 months and i know he doesnt understand much and interact with us, but still we do

Nice to hear about mommies playing with their kids. Though I'm yet to experience anything like that, I just thought I'd add by telling that some of friends said that kindermusik is great too. They feel that their babies enjoy it and moms enjoy the time they can leave the house with the baby and be in a place where their kids are happy too. -L.
