Hey Today I tried to slip into my old jeans (before pregnancy) and guess what it did fit me. Yey…. Bye Bye stretchy pants and welcome jeans...I was so scared to stand on weighing machine but today I did and seems like I still have couple of pounds to get rid of but I have heard that once you stop breastfeeding you get rid of those extra pounds. Is that true? Anyway this is not bad either…How about you ladies? Talk to you later Last edited by meeta shah; 7th April 2008 at 03:10 PM.

HI RAJ, The logic of loosing weight once u stop BFing is you eat less, your diet pattern gets into routine hence atleast some weight loss. Though it depends a lot on personal preferences also. One should avoid eating fatty foods after stopping BFing

aha, got it, happywoman. I need to remember that once I stop BFing. My diet has definitely increased, now that i think about it. Moderation is the key.

Now that you all are talking about eating less after pregnancy and stopping breast feeding, I got pulled into this discussion. Not sure how much this is true - again this varies person to person, I guess. I did lose good amount of weight that I gained during Pregnancy, post pregnancy and on stopping breast feeding. But my appetite hasn't come back to routine and I don't get to eat less these days. If I try to reduce the quantity my stomach starts to growl after sometime. ![]() I wish I could get back my pre-preg body and fit into all my petite jeans. ![]() Nice discussion, have a good one. Malathy

| Malathy, I know how that is... I used to be like that even before I got married. I used to be hungry in the afternoons, even after having a good lunch. SO, I started eating salads for lunch, I would stuff myself (without dressings) with all kinds of greens, fruits and nuts and I would feel so full without much calorie gain. You can give it a try...

gvk, nuts can contribute to adding fat if you are not too careful, but they also contain lots essential oils and nutrients, so snack them in moderation - like a handful of mixed nuts like almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc. Try unsalted since the salted are high in sodium.

I too lost all that I gained(about 20 lbs) during pregnancy just after delivery. Now I have lost another 4-5 lbs...I have started hitting the gym again and surely that is helping.
