Hi Vidya,

"Pangajakasturi" i think is for elders. For one year old baby the following medicine is harmless. If you get it in your place get it and make kashayam and give it to your baby.

Nattumarunthu: Sitharathai, athimathuram - you get both in powdered format well take one spoon each and put it in water boil it, filter it, give it to baby.

hi vidya,
what ever u give the child u need to dilute it well and not strong like how adults have it, so even sorasam is given according to the age of the child just below 1yr old will not be able to with stand even one full vethaley in it, so u need to check with elders or a doctor before you give home made kashayam. .they are dangerous if you give without diluting..sunkan

Hi,
My daughter is 19 months old. Last month she was suffering
from runny nose and plum etc. For runny nose I used to make
kashayam with thulasi. I get dry tulasi powder in Indian stores here.
I boiled the dry tulasi powder with water, when it becomes half of the
original measurement, I use the tea dispenser to separate the water
from the tulasi and I fed almost everyday for a week.

For clearing plum and chest congestion I mix a pinch of turmeric
powder and pepper powder with milk. We should be careful while
giving this medicine to toddlers. We should use only a pinch not much.
It was very effective. Try this and let the children get some relief.
