anyone form maryland

Hi friends
I am movingt to ellicott city in mid of October. I wanna know know how much is the rent for an apartment with 1 bed room & one drawing room AND 2 bed with one drawing room. My husbands 2 more bacholer frds are also coming so can they share one room in a 1 bed rrom apartment.

Hope some of you ladies are also living in ellicott city.

am vinitha,let me ingtroduce my self too am in MD,laurel am a house wife but am looking to make new frnds from IL if people are from MD then thats really good so that we can chat and share our thoughts frequently if possible we can meet also.how all can say.... how do u pass your time daily are you all working? or house wives.

Well we are sailing in almost the same boat. You are moving from India and We just moved from CA last week. We too don't know a soul or a thing in Maryland. We decided to settle down in Ellicott city as howard county schools are rated one of the best in US. I have a 4 year old girl so faced similar problem of school and apartment but well did lot of research on net.

If u too are looking for a friend we can get together infact any ladies staying in MD and driveable distance. We can all form a nice group and have a playgroup which would be great for our kids and us as well. As everyone in this thread said that winters are freezing in MD and its hard to take kids outside atleast in this way we all can meet and winters would'nt be a torture.

which place in maryland are u going to come.since u'll be coming here in october its going to be a bit cold.winter starts from nov to almost mid-march.
but u can feel the chill from end of september itself.

there is moderate indian populalation in maryland.there are some indian grocery stores and indian restaurants also but initially u'll need to get some indian stuff with you.
maybe like some masalas and powders ........

once u get used to u;ll start liking the place.regarding schools ,if you tell me which place i can give u a good idea about the schools.
since your kid is 3 yrs old he will have to go to pre-school until he's 5 yrs old.
