Default Indians in France...pls help.

Hi All,

Iam new to Indus ladies community. But I find the site to be very informative and interesting. At present I stay in Bangalore,India with my hubby. We are travelling to Lyon,France next month on a long term basis.Since this is my first trip abroad,Iam kind of confused as to what r the things that are to be taken. Can anybody guide me for the following queries..

1.Our breakfast mostly constitutes of Idly and Dosa.I have a table top wet grinder, but my husband does want to carry it to France as he does not want to increase his luggage..IS MIXIE ESSENTIAL?

2.Can we find south indian grocery store in Lyon or in the nearby area.

3.I have read in the internet that there is an Indian Grocery store called Cash n carry in Paris....Is there any such store in Lyon?

4.What are all the important things that I should take to have a fairly peaceful living in France....

All ur inputs will be very helpful for me.Pls assist.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
V.Kirthiga

Dear Krithiga,

There are lots of Indian Grocery Shops in Paris, Frankfurt, Saarbrucken ... But, I do not know much about Lyon...

Mixie is a very needful and necessary one for our Indian cooking. So, I prefer you carry Mixie/Grinder (optional) ... as you make dosa/idly batter in Mixie (but I don't prefer as it might spoil the mixie) ... You can't find Grinder or mixie anywhere in Europe except if you tend to pay more on online shipping ...

For time being, you better carry some Grocery items (like dhal, spices etc) so that you can manage until you find a Indian Shop.

Utensils like Kadai, cooker is better to bring from India... which you can not find in Europe ...

I know this is too much list, but no other options ... You can try putting them on Container (I do not know about the cost) ... You can enquire about that in Chennai itself, which will be better for you to carry less KGs and send the main weight items in container ...

Hope I have given some useful informations ... take care ...
