| Hi Suni The problem here is I cannot carry a grinder because of the weight constraint . and also i am not sure if i can get idly rice in kirchberg . My husband is not a kind of person who can go all way along to paris to get groceries . If i ask him to get tomatoes , he will get the one he sees first even without knowing what it actually is . I think it will be on my own to look for things like this . All his collegues from this place are from delhi . So i will be the only tamilian there looking for idly/dosa . With my daughter i am not so sure how i am going to manage .Cheers Deepa |

| Hi, Try this out, it may work. I use raw rice or boiled rice, whichever is available and Rice Flour. Proportion - 1 cup Urad dal, 4 cups rice, Vendhiyam, all soaked overnight. 4 Cups Rice Flour, a little bit baking soda. Grind the Urad dhal and Vendiyam into a fine paste, Rice a little bit very fine paste and the rest slightly Rava Texture. Add the Rice Flour to water and make a paste and mix all of them together. Once the batter rises, idly/dosa maavu ready. The Idli will be soft but slightly like hotel idli texture. I use Preethi Chefpro Mixer, should work with all blenders I think. ~ Sai

| Dear Deepa, Don't worry dear ... All Delhi wala people eat Chappathi and we eat Idli Dosa ... But you can't find idli rice in Kirchberg or any indian shop in Luxembourg ... As lalithasai said, you can try idli/dosa paste in normal rice itself ... okay ... Do as per her way and it will come good ... Hope we have helped you ... You have no other choice, other than going to Paris or Germany (Saarbrucken) for buying Indian items if you need them ... else, we have to adjust with European dish ... You can buy only some items from Indian shops in Luxembourg which are very expensive too ... You get find dhals, Pappad, Pickles, Chappathi Atta, Chinese Tamarind, etc ... not Idli rice but you can find Idli maker readymade .. as per my adivice, it doesn't turn out well deepa ... Anyway, let me know when you are there okay ... Take Care.. Happy journey ... Sorry that I couldn't be there to help you or receive you in Airport ... Quote:
