| Hi: Places very close to Paris: Versailles, Fontaine bleu, Fontenay sous bois and Disneyland. There are other places like Provins - close to Disneyland - it supposed to be a walled medieval city. There is Giverny, which is where Claude Monet lived and Auvers sur Oise where Van Gogh died. All these places are greater Paris, not within the city. Within the city, ofcourse you have lots of places to go to. Happy sightseeing! Sindhu |

| I don't have many to add to Sindhu's reply. We lived in Fontainebleau for over a year and it's a beautiful town. It was Napolean's hunting ground and has a pretty chateaux with a pleasing garden. Also close by are small towns like Barbizon if you're interested in paintings and stuff like that. There's another small chateaux Vaux-le-Vicomte (spelling?) also close to Fontainebleau... Provins is also pretty... had been there. All good to see and the drive is very French provided the weather is in your favour. Latha |
