Hi Madhukri,

We had been to Switzerland in the month of April for 4 days and covered the same places that u are planning to. We had taken the Swiss Pass (also called as saver pass) as the date of our journey was fixed. Swiss saver pass is valid for 4 consecutive days on the dates chosen, whereas Swiss flexi pass is valid for any 4 consecutive days in a month.

So if your dates are fixed u can go for Swiss pass. We used to live in Frankfurt when we visited swiss and had purchased the swiss pass at the Frankfurt hauptbahnhof (Railway station). So just see if u get it at Dublin.

If u want any more info, u can ask me.

By the way when are u planning to visit swiss?

Leena.

Hi Madhukri,
Saw your Itinerary. and you can make it. Only thing is as its the month of December, the weather will be really chilly. So just check how feasible the climatic conditions will be. Check the website www.wetter.com which gives you 7-10 days of forecast. We made our trip in April when my daughter was 21 months old and without any problem. But as it was summer then it was easy for us to travel around with her and still enjoy the snow. The itinerary looks hectic only on paper, once you are in swiss amidst nature you forget all that and just wish to see more.

We started our trip from Zurich, did some sightseeing over there. Then by evening train went to Interlaken, overnight at Interlaken. Next day morning went to the Top of Europe- Jungfrau, were there for 2-3 hrs, then went to Schilthorn the same day. Came to Interlaken by evening. Day 3 morning caught a train to Lucerne- went to Titlis, came back in the evening and did sightseeing in Lucerne. Day 4- Caught a train going to Brig from where we boarded the Glacier Express (a beautiful journey) and got down at Chur. From there we went Back to Zurich to catch our flight.

So enjoy your trip. DO try to make a plan with the exact timings and train no., platform no. and all. Take the printouts and keep handy. You will save
on time once you are there then. Also see if you can do some sightseeing of the cities as they are also worth seeing.

bye till then
Leena.
Start packing, hardly 3 days to go. wave

Hi Madhukri,

Ya the website is in german language. But you can type the place that you are visiting on the left hand side where the search is located and click suchen. You will get the temperatures and thats what we want right.

It will direct you to a page where the weather for 3 days will be given, below it will be written "weiter zur 7-tage Ubersicht". Click on that and you get 7 day forecast. I just saw that the temperatures are going below Zero degrees. So carry good warm clothing with you.

Bye.
happy journey.
