Must see Places in and around California..

Hi,

We are planing for a vacation to california..

What are the must see places and things to do in and around CA?
Time is not the constraint, and we are plannign to cover major cities in CA (San diego, San fransisco, Los angeles).

Yosemite national park is a good option! You may also consider the wineries in Napa and Sonama counties. Don't miss a drive thru Highway 1, anywhere from San Francisco to Monterey Bay (Half moon bay, Santa Cruz etc come in the same stretch). The best is 17 mile dr in Monterey.. The monterey bay aquarium is worth a visit.

If you drive in San Francisco downtown, dont miss the view points from Treasure Island and Twin Peaks at night. They give you the best sight of the city.

Its good to visit Yosemite around May/June when there's tons of water in their falls. Now its all dried up. Had been there this weekend.

Northern CA

Lassen volcanic park in CA/Oregon border - good trails and hike
Mount Shasta and crater lake - about 40 miles from Lassen
Lake Tahoe - sightseeing, rafting, parasailing
Whale watching in pier 39

Southern CA

Catalina island - long beach
Seaworld, wildlife park etc - sandiego
Universal studios (hollywood), disney (if you have kids) - LA
Museums and other beaches in LA

We are currently staying at OC and went around couple of places.
1st weekend to Whale and Dolphin watching at the pacific ocean (dana point)

2nd weekend to Sea World and Hollywood area

3rd weekend to SFO and when coming back we drove back and took pacific Hwy1..Beautiful scenery...infact we drove 120 miles stretch by Pacific Ocean and mountain...Unforgettable drive of lifetiime.

4th weekend to grand canyon

5th weekend to Santa Monica beach,Malibu temple AND DISNEY LAND

still pending..catalina island, universal studio, sandiego zoo, las vegas..

Is there anything else must see when am here...???
