Default Extra Curricular Activities for kids

Hello ladies,
Just wondering what all extra curricular activities are you sending your kids for. Have never been sure if I'm doing enough with my son. People talk about so many sports/mind related activities...but how do all manage with usual studies and even taking them/bringing them back is an issue. Just for discussion...let me know your views as to what you feel is enough or what should they be doing as your opinion goes..

Initially i used to send my daughter for extra curricular acitivies , but this year havent even thought of as the Pressure of Studies is too much .. Traffc kills the pleasure of putting kid into any activity as half of the time is spent commuting .. for 45 mins of a class .. Not worth the effort !
If someone can come home and teach .. Im in for it ..
Earlier she was learning Classical Dance /Swimming/Keyboard ..

Im looking for Keyboard teacher who could come home and teach ...
I tried contacting the person who gave his contact details here , but since the day the post was made , mobile is switched off !!

If you know of any tutor for Keyboard classes , keep me posted !!

Cheers

Ya I know Shivani I faced the same. But keep hearing parents sending for so many sports and for so many other activities that I feel that because of work I have no time to take my son for any extra curricular activities . Currently he's going for swimming/abacus classes. Wanted him to join some sport...really want him to have this hobby of playing any sport...keeps you fit through the life. Haven't manage to put him into any of those classes.
My son not interested in any sort of music lessons. So never tried to find any keyboard teacher. Will let you know if I come across somebody who teaches.

Well .. I had also heard from many parents , sending their kids for Extra curricular classes , and not just that you are working thus you are not able to send him across but while im at home ,its still not possible for me to send her for extra curricular classes as she has one or the other tests lined up , if no tests ,then the Project work/ assignments and thus cant afford to waste time in the traffic .. for 1 hr of a class 3 hrs not gone anywhere !!

I was thinking of putting her in SDIPA , but again timings and days ... Wont allow

Hi Shivani,
What is SDIPA? Tell me more details...
Infact I thought that your location is very convenient for all kind of activities. You find lots of activities around Karama. Did you decide about Abacus you were considering before?

Hi Shivani, Ritu

Im also from Dubai.. Burdubai!

i got a keyboard master who comes home and teaches. my son has now done through his initial stage in Trinity exam. he comes to burdubai, karama and he has got many friends who can come and teach. i dont knw if i can give his num here..
regarding sports, Ritu, u can join him in Al Nasr club, behind american hospital... but only disadvantage is no transportation. you can either join him in friday, sat classes if u can pick n drop him there. my son wil be joining tennis there from next month.

Hi Ritu Its Shiamak Davar's Institute of Performing Arts .. Current session going on in Jormand Suites Bur Dubai !!

Yup , Location wise its pretty convienient to avail all the services , the best part is the easy availabitity of the tutors as they dont mind coming this side without an extra charge ...

Regarding the Arabic Tutions as well , guess I should be able to speak to the tutor to lower down the fee !! Lemme know just in case !

Cheers
