my son's first birthday- can u all help!

hi everyone specially zeenat...

i didnt have any clue tht so many mummies are looking forward to celebrate their kid's first birthday differently and not like the normal ways in kfc,mcdonalds etc.

i too am one of u all and this is my first child and from the time he was born i kept on thinking tht i will be celebrating hsi birthday in a royal way and will make it so special so tht everyone will always remember my son's first birthday.

4th feb 2010 is his birthday and i know its still too early for me to search ahead abt it.. but time passes too quick and i have only 3 and a half months left now.. so today i just sat online to check wht can i find and came across this site and read how zeenat and others were searching for a great venue for their child's first birthday like i am...

would still tell u all wht exactly iwant so tht u all as my frnds can help me, as i am a single parent so i got loads of things to decide and do on myown. would appreaciate if ucud help me out by suggesting me a non-veg place anywhere in sharjah or dubai... but the thing is i want it to be a buffet and the hall should be huge and well decorates as i will be having arnd 40 adults and 10-15kids...

i want my son's first birthday to be in a very royal style with fun like games for mothers and their kids too.. everything is so messed up in mind dont know wht where and how to start and plan abt it...

first of all i need to celect the venue so if u all can help me by telling me some reasonable places so tht i can go and check itout and come to a final decision for its venue...

to zeenat: the foodland tht u were talking abt do they have a big hall and wht abt the decorations?

if anyone of u think tht making a birthday party in a hotel like a 2-3star hotel wud cost me reasonable so can u suggest me any too..

I dont have any idea about the venue in UAE, other ILs can help in that.

But I have some ideas which you might like. Since you mentioned that you want it to be royal, you can chose the theme as Royalty/ Mughal Era. Your son maybe dressed up like a King. You have to try to get pictures of various kings, and then get dresses stiched for him exactly like the king. Get cardboard or chartpaper and make crowns. Paint it golden and attach elastics so he can wear it as a band. Make jewelery with plenty of large colorful beads.
All your guest children should come dressed in the royal theme. You can have invitation cards printed like a scroll.
This is just an idea, you can improve on it. Good that you are planning in advance, you will have sufficient time to get everything including intricate details sorted comfortably in time.

Welcome to IL... I would prefer hotel caravan which is in Hamrain centre diera...They have a huge decorated party hall and a co-ordinator who organize games for kids and elders.. BUffet is a mixed with indian, chinese etc.
I did my daughter 2nd b'day there and we all had a very good time...

yes i wanted it to be grand and royal and the king idea is quite very nice.. infact having a theme is a good idea... but the thing is i want my son to wear a formal suit in black or maroon on his first birthday as i am dying to see him in a suit so i dont think the king stuff i can make him and if i ask other kids to take this theme up so it wont look nice tht my son is not wearing it... but having a theme on his birthday is a great idea...

like a theme for a color or how abt this... all the kids shud be dressed in a cartoon character dress.. like superman batman, princess something like this.. and my son will be a wizard where i will make him wear the suit with a hat and if he can hold the stick will be nice

but plz if u have any other ideas tht even the elders can adopt then its gonna be great and any game ideas where parents and their kids can join in and win..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I WILL APPRECIATE IT..as i am collecting info frm now on and at the end will put it together..

abt caravan the buffet is great i know but the party hall i havnt seen it yet.. will check tht too out along with foodland as i want a well decorates hall will great space to dance and play... thanks will surly check caravan and i suppose its next to dnata right? is it that one?

i was thinking of a hotel where there is a small stage too where i can make him sit so tht people can see him and we can dance and place on the stage.. like how weddings take place.. but then thts gonna cost too much and those only big hotels will be having it.. if u know abt a place with a stage then do tell me know but it shudnt be too expensive as then it will cross my budget... and hey how abt the cake...any ideas... something different? waiting for ur responses thanks alot for ur help

oh sry shvap u said its inside hamarain centre ..dont know abt tht one..will check it out this weekend.how much is the buffet there? or do they have different buffet sets?
