Dear Oosha,

I just some of above messages and realsied that you knwo a lot about Dubai ...
I am Pallavi ,have shifted to Dubai a month back with my husband and just getting settled to new life here.
also I am expecting ... so not planning to work right now . I am putting up in Marina area and would like to get in touch with you all,,,,
I am a fashion design graduate from NIFT, i was running my own business back in India , have to still figure out what i will do here...any ladies working from home here?

also, we are planning to use either welcare or midcare hospitals as they have good Indian doctors on board, can anyone advice which is better ,also both are far from Marina,
do you think it will be a problem to travel specially during later months when visit becomes more frequent. Do guide me on this.

thanks

Modern High school is the only ICSE board in dubai and is a very good school, the only with day boarding facility after grade 3. Its quite expensive. The schhol is intending to move to NAD AL SHEBA next year............. thats near ACADEMIC CITY....

Go to gemsschools website and you may get infm of all Gems manages school. Our Own is also a gems managed school. But not so expensive, its a cbse, board.

Delhi private school(DPS) is in Jebelali, quite close to Discoverygardens................. walking distance. DPS is also a good school, falls in between Modern and ur own for the fees.

Discoverygardens - 1 bedroom rents start from 95000 dhs per year and 2 beds are i think 1,20,000/-.

Where are you now??Can you access GULF NEWS- newspaper- PROPERTY SECTION- Flats for rent in discovery gardens................ you will have lot of infm.

Do write back to me and shall give you any other details that you require. If its a longterm plan and if you wish things easily accessible to you, then THE GARDENS/ DISCOVERYGARDENS is the nest place as of today. your husbands' access to office, all school buses ply that side , and if DPS.......nothing like it and you are close to IBN BATUTA mall, which has GEANT hypermarket for all your needs. As a matter of fact, THE GARDENS, the community project already has so many families settled that you can find, anything and evrything around you, for eg, tutions for your kid, friends, contacts, grocery .. everything.

With the METRO, likely to get moving in 2 years, life will be easy from that part of dubai to anywhere.

Albarsha---------------- you will have access to the MALL OF EMIRATES that has Carrefour for your everyday needs and also LULU that has opned up ............... and as said, schhol buses, all of them, do some to al barsha.

Hope this sets in you for the moment. Hope if i have said something wrong, the others who read this , from Dubai,...................will correct ................

Hi pallavigarg,

Thank you for the compliments and welcome to Dubai.

Congrats to you and please take care........God bless you.

Have you already consulted any doctor??/ No doubt, Welcare and American hospitals are one of the few bests here. However, yes you are right, travelling to and fro, would be difficult.... Would you be delivering here or would plan to go to India???

Welcare hospital has a branch near Knowledge Village or Media city... i am not sure. Why dont you call up Welcare and ask them if they have any of thier consulation facilities near /reachable from Dubai Marina................

Since you will have check ups only once a month initially, should not be problem..... Al Wasl hospital which is a govt hospital also is very good for the same and also Post natal...... But then it would involve, health cards... not meeting the same doctor ine every appoitment... etc. I shall send you some details on your Private message. Do respond.

Since you are new here and also preg, please take precautions as its too hot, for a newcomer like you, Please hydrate yourself with lot of water and eat sensibly...... How old is your pregnancy???

Keep yourself cheerful and relax. YOu shall get all infm here and do go thru many posts incl cooking/preg /diet and all uner one roof INDUA LADIES ZINDABAD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Cheers
