Exclamation Discrimination??!-driving licence

Recently I met a lady who moved to Dubai from UK, a few months ago. In the course of our conversation I came to know (to my surprise) that she just had to submit her UK driving license in RTA and they immediately convert it to a UAE license!! Why is it that we from India, who have valid driving licenses and have the same traffic rules as UK (right hand driving, on the left side of the rd) have to go through the classes, tests etc and spend money on the same process. She herself said that she was still very disoriented while driving on the roads! Can you imagine how many similar ppl are there on the road causing potential danger!!

Dear Babita, No i'm not working right now, live in deira and have registered with EDI. I have paid a registration fees of(which includes eye test, translation of form, learners permit and some other things like booklet etc) Dhs 1400. As I already have a drivers license from India, I have to take only 20 classes, otherwise it is 40 classes. All the info is available in Emirates Driving Institute website, including fees etc....

Hi,

But if we r having Indian License which is 3 years old,we have to attend only 20 classes. After that we can attend the Test..But really in tests also there is discrimintaion by the RTA.i got the license in my 2nd attempt. But in my first attempt i think they didn't give me the licensepurposefully though i didn't done any mistake. The lady officer from RTA told "No No Not Today...Better Luck Next Time",It all depends on their mood..So i met on test date so many ladies who is attempting their 9th test attempt.By seeing all these we lost our confidence.

Any way all the best ...think positilvely...Take it as a challenge......
