| Hi Laxmi, thats a very interesting question which sure doesnt have a definite answer. I believe balancing work and home(with kids) is the biggest challenge anyone can have! Since I work from home, this challenge is a bit easier for me, my daughter goes to a nursery and I also have house help for cleaning. Definitely working full time outside home is a very big challenge and even I would be interested in knowing how mums manage it. Hats off to all the working mums!! ![]() cheers! |

| Hi Laxmi, I usually try to plan meals for the whole week during weekends. During Fri & Sat (w/ends) I plan my menus .. buy my groceries & vegetables for the nxt week. I make some gravies, fry them in oil & keep them handy in fridge. Greens like spinach, fenugreek, coriander I chop, wash well & shallow fry them in oil and refridgerate it. I have frozen paneer, peas, corn, grated coconut any given day in my freezer. You could even boil dals & keep it for 2-3 days in the fridge. Onions, drumstick, cauliflower..such veggies can be chopped & kept in the fridge. I have a domestic help who comes & does the cleaning & ironing & occassionally helps me with chopping of vegetables & kneading the dough. Sometimes ..even with all this done I still am not able to give enough time to my tot. Or when I am too tired or take her to the garden in the evenings I usually end up cooking one dish meals/parathas/eggs or i make veggie and get chappatis from the hotel..at times get complete food from the hotel. However during weekdays i just cook bfast & dinner. My tot gets fresh homemade food for lunch at her baby sitter's place while me & dh order food from hotel for lunch. This is usually my regime..hope it aids to some extent.

| hi laxmi i guess u consider yourself a superwoman... in not wanting a maid for help if u start working. just kidding... though i think it would be a lot easier if u have some help either with your child or with the house chores.. running around doing everything would be a difficult proposition.. but i guess.. if u have made ur mind... you could do it. take care... all the best. |

| hi lakshmiAnand Thanks for your reply. If I consider myself a superwoman, I wouldn't have asked suggestions. Coz super woman doesn't need any suggestions. she only gives suggestions. But as fas as I know there are so many working ladies who are managing by themselves without keeping any maids. Anyways thanks. Let me check if I can handle. O/w I have to find some other solution. cheers laxmi Quote:
