Banks have great general insurance plans such as Unit-Linked plans, whole life plan and endowment savings plan. All of them aim at providing a lump sum of money at a later stage in life when it is needed the most. They are the best forms of savings.
There are many such plans, but I have heard that ULIPs are not so great. Also look at the Bank's history and current positions. If a plan seems too good to be true, it probably is. Today there are so many scams beware how and where you park your money. Go into speculation only if you have expendable money.
