Not always it is serious. Vaccination fevers are common in babies. These fevers are usually mild and parents need not worry. In fact vaccination fever is a good sign showing a healthy immune system of your baby. Vaccination for babies is compulsory for growing babies and you should not be worried to consult a doctor unless your baby is below 6 months or the fever is persisting for 2 days or more.
