Default Searching a house in Dubai

Hello Everyone!!!

As we are planning to move to Dubai in a couple of months we would like to have an idea about the area where we can take a 1BHK house on rent. What are the areas where mainly Indians are staying???? What are the rates in that area??? What is the process to hire a flat in dubai??? Do we need to put deposit with owner?? How much will be rent for furnished, semifurnished 1bhk in dubai where more Indians are staying?

Besides this while coming to Dubai what are the things you will suggest we should bring with us???? Costwise Dubai will be expensive, so I would like to know the important things which one needs to carry with herself??

Awaiting ur replies....

bbye n tc

Dear Mrudula,
Welcome to UAE. You must have already heard about the rocket high rents in Dubai. A mediocre 1BR falt may cost you anywhare between 4-5k per month. some houses with Central A/c and other fringes may cosy you about 8k. Please note that the rents are paid in one or two instalments (not monthy as in India).
Also you would have heard a lot about traffic jams here. Try to find a flat near your husband's office.
You will find Indians in Karama, Bur Dubai, Qusais,Deira, even Jebel Ali (most of the places in Dubai).
You get all the stuff here in Dubai. If the weight permits, you can bring pressure cooker, pressure pan and other day to day utensils just for a start.
If you have any specific questions, please let me know.

Regards
USHA

Dear Usha Didi,

Thank you very much for giving areas in Dubai. On the basis of those we can search a house on net also. My hubby's office is somewhere near the airport. But he is also aware about the area known as Karama. One of his friends used to stay there in his Dubai stay.
Besides this I want to ask about the job opportunities in social science field....like NGOs, Social Science Journal offices, research projects run by colleges....do u hv any idea about this? I hv done Masters in Anthropology and presently pursuing my ph d here in india.
I hv 2 yrs old kid . We need to see his school nearby before taking a h ouse on rent. I hv heard there are CBSC board in some schools....so we would like to place him in good one of those. Pls guide me in this matter also.

Thank you once again for your prompt reply

bbye n tc...If I hv other querries I will come back to u didi...thnks
