Unhappy Excess Hairfall due to chlorinated water.. Pl help!!!

Dear Friends,

I am suffering from serious hairfall/hairbreakage ever since i moved to UAE.

I have tried switching over to herbal shampoos & other anti hair breakage conditioners... but not help.

At present I am using HImalaya herbals shampoo, Pantene Anti breakage conditioner & Rich Feel Jaborandi oil

I would like to ask other fellow IL's .. esp ladies from the Middle East

Do you guys too face such a similar problem due to chlorinated water.
If yes, How do you combat it??

Hi,

1.using a chlorine shower filter can reduce the hair loss if you think chlorinated water is causing the problem.
2.Apply warm coconut oil at least once a week and leave it half an hour and then shampoo.
3. Avoid using shampoo and conditioners daily.

Above are some quick remedies.
Happy new year,
Lena.

Thumbs down Re: Excess Hairfall due to chlorinated water.. Pl help!!!

Hi daffodil

I too faced similar problems after i came to UAE.

-I am using Nyle anti hairfall oil. After using this my hair fall reduced drastically.

-avoid taking head bath in hot water. Water can be warm. But it shouldnt be too hot.

-if there is dandruff problem try using Triben AD a solution for dandruff treatment.Apply that before taking head bath. Leave for 10 mins and wash and use Shampoo.

Hope this helps.

Wish you a very Happy New Year!!

Hi,

Here is the link to know more about the shower filter. It can attached to the shower head.

Amazon.com: Aquasana Shower Filter and Wand Combo Model Aq4105: Kitchen & Dining

Shower Filter Store - Best Water Filtration, Free Shipping

Checkout your local stores that sell sanitary applainces or buy it online.

Also as tweety suggested it is very important that the water should not be very hot.

Lena.

hi friends

ever since I came to saudi, my hair started falling.....never stopped. I tried all kinds of oils and shampoos. even my forehead became almost bald. imagine my situation. i almost started crying.

I just tried Liv-on once, i felt that my hair-fall reduced drastically, i'm not seeing even a hair while combing my hair and started to grow long, eventhough it's not dense, i feel little better. i'm continuing liv-on. it works really. cheap and best. after you give shampoo bath to your hair, apply either wet or before combing dry also. no probs at all.Thank God I found this remedy before I became fully bald!

uma.

im from kuwait and i had a similar problem..its so depressing to see your hair fall off like that..after months of painstakingly growing it!well my bro in law suggested that i fill a bucket of water abt an hr bfore showering.. so that the chlorine goes at the bottom and then u scoop the water and wash ur hair..try it..it mite help..but make sure u keep watch of the bucket if u have small kidos around..and also u can try diluting ur shampoo..maybe what u r using is strong for ur hair..so dilute the shampoo in water and wash ur hair.hope it works..cheers!

Hi Kashmira,

Thanks for ur FB.
I always dilute my shampoo in an empty bottle before using it.
Himalaya Herbals i guess is the mildest of all chemical shampoos.
But maybe I coud try the other soln of filling water before using to allow settlement of chlorine.
Thanks once more..

Smile Re: Excess Hairfall due to chlorinated water.. Pl help!!!

Hi Daffodil, ,
This is a problem initially even i had too much hairfall then after a while it subsided by itself , one reason could be that i started using lukewarm water for my hair and always use coconut oil for hair (the plain one).Make sure u oil ur hair atleast once a week, and only after the hair becomes fully dry use a comb. Dont use shampoo more often only when u put oil shampoo ur hair and that too with some very mild shampoo and dont forget to condition it always.

Regards
Vrinda
