HI Maha,

I dont think so calling cards are allowed, i mean is it legal here? Bcos i came to know that VOIP is banned now in UAE.

But i heard there are still few internet centres and other places where they sell it but it is not legal, it came recntly in the newspaper.

Hi Maha
Hi this is Priya from AbuDhabi. In case u want to make calls back home I suggest that you use either Yahoo messanger or Google talk coz its really gud. I voicechat regularly with my mom in Chennai using these. Its very clear as if you're talking over the phone & we talk for even 1 hour sometimes. The requirements are:
  1. You shd have installed the software.
  2. The other person with whom u want to chat shd have also installed the software.
  3. Both of you shd have a headphone with mic.
All the Best & Happy talking. Bye.

Hi all,

Just wanted to share an info.. In yahoo messenger there is a paid voice service, with which we can make PC to mobile or PC to landline calls..The procedure is simple..

U need to register for the yahoo messenger with voice service...

See the calling rates and pay an initial amt of $10 using ur credit card...

The activation is immediate and u can see the amount displayed in the top left corner of ur messenger window once u sign in..

The amt gets automatically deducted when u make the call...

when i went to sharjah , i also bought an internet phone card from Vyke which again starts from $10..since its not sold in dubai, if i go to sharjah i buy a card...else i use yahoo..

These are really economical to make PC to mobile calls if the end user doesnt have an internet connection at home..
