Urgent: Require help in information regarding visitor visa

Dear everyone

I really need help from someone in this forum.

My husband has gone to UK on a business visa for 6 months, with return ticket also booked. His company is sponsoring his stay and expenses in the UK.

My husband wishes to take me now, on a visitor visa to UK, for the same period of time, and come back when my husband is due to come back, that is Feb 2010. Can someone enlighten me on what all is required for applying for such a visa?

How many months of salary slips is required? My husband changed his job in June, and so we haven't got a slip for July. Will that be a problem? Also, is it necessary that we get a formal letter from my husband's company regarding my stay? I will be accomodated in the apartment my husband has been given, but they are not ready to issue a formal letter in that regard. Will that be a cause of rejection?

I have the original documents of everything that is required, except for an accomodation letter, salary slip for June. Will my application be rejected on this cause?

I have Fixed deposits in my name and in my husband's name, mounting to around 7-8 lakhs, but we dont have a bank account balance of more than 1 lakhs. Will all this be a problem? How long does it take to process this type of visa?

I have also heard that we require to provide a flight itinerary also. How can we book tickets to UK without knowing if we will get a visa or not? Or do we just need to give tentative dates?
