Thumbs up Visitor Visa- 6 months for parents from India to UK

Hi

I would like to bring my Mother in law from chennai for 6 months.I have asked agency in india but they have asked MIL to apply directly to Embassey.

1. Is there any agency in India doing UK Vistor visa?
2. Can we take medical ins in Chennai or UK .She is having BP, Sugar, leg pain etc etc., So any advices. She is aged 60 - 65.
3. She is Govt pensioner. If she apply by herself instead of we r sending our documents(we will sponsorship letter), will she get visa? .

I hope many Indladies bring parents from India to UK but i heard many does't get visa .
So i hope the discussions will be useful to our UK site.
thanks
maha

Dear Maha,

Please find my responses to the queries you have posted below.

1. Is there any agency in India doing UK Vistor visa?

I believe there are several agencies in India who can process the visa on behalf of the applicant and charge some fees. There should be few in Chennai as well. Most of my friends haven't applied via an agent so I don't have any specific agent details.

2. Can we take medical ins in Chennai or UK .She is having BP, Sugar, leg pain etc etc., So any advices. She is aged 60 - 65.

It is advisable to take insurance from India as it is applicable from the date she travels and any emergency situation can be handled. There are different types of medical insurances that are granted to someone travelling to UK and you may have to choose the right one depending on her age and medical condition.

3. She is Govt pensioner. If she apply by herself instead of we r sending our documents(we will sponsorship letter), will she get visa? .

If the enclosed documents are fine then I do not see any reason why her visa would be rejected. Most of the visa rejections that I have seen belong to the category where the originals were not posted and instead duplicates were sent.In that case, the rejection reason is clearly stated as "Originals not enclosed".

The information I have posted is to the best of my knowledge and tidbits passed on to me by my friends who have applied.Hope this information is useful.I hope your MIL gets her visa with no hassles and you have a lovely family reunion here in UK.All the best.
