Indian Ladies in Houston - Meet here!

Hi all

Fabulous seeing so many indian ladies in one place:) My name is Devina, and my husband and I just recently moved to Houston. We live at the Retreat @ Eldridge...anyone living there or closeby? I'm just looking to make friends since I am new here. Would love to talk with someone abt this place as to where to shop or hang out or good eating joints etc etc. Hoping for a response:)

Sounds like u live close to my apt, which we just moved into last week, on Eldridge. We just had lunch the other day at Ashiana and that was very close to our place. I am new to this site so am not sure how u go abt contacting ppl on this site thru pvt messgs so u can exchange email ids or phone numbers..have u figured it out yet?

I am also going to start looking out for jobs and u r so right mostly everyone here has an IT background...me having a commerce background. I just shifted to Houston last week with my husband. Do u have any advice as to how to start off..like what kind of entry level jobs should i be looking for?
Would appreciate your help.

Meenloch, I read somewhere that you went to a Chinese grocery store but was far from your place. Well, I found this grocery store the other day at 1960 ( i think you are somewhere by 1960?) Its called Hongkong food market at Veterans Memorial drive. Check 'em out!! I absolutely love it.

There was another member here who was into medical research/clinical/science field, cant seem to remember who it was. I am looking for an entry level job in medical/clinical/laboratory field. It seems like every person I know from our part the world is in IT field, I just wish I know more ppl from the field I am in. The networking will make my 'not so fruitful' job search a lil easier. It'd be nice if I can contact you. Please let me know.

Welcome to Houston. I live very close to Ashiana Indian restaurant. We had private messaging on this site but recently they have changed the rules and people who post more than 50 messages have the ability to send private messages or something like that. Seniors, please correct me if I am wrong about the rules. You can join the Indus ladies group on Orkut and may be that way we can exchange personal email ids and even meet. I think You, me and chaitali live very close and can probably meet sometime at my house. Me and my husband are s/w consultants.Recently we moved to Houston b'coz of his new assisgnment.We are planning to settle over Houston as we like this place.I wanted to know the scope of SAP field in Houston as my husband is SAP consultant.

I am Vidya from NW houston. I moved here an year back. I am joining school this Fall and waiting for everything to go well. I am from chennai, but was brought up in Delhi mostly. I am learning Telugu now ...

Iworked with an IT company before coming here.

As for new comers to Houston, I like this place a lot, except for the heat.
You get everything you need, with Houston being 4 th largest Indian populated city in the US.
