Hi Renuka,
I haven't gone through pregnancy and delivery here. But as far as i know ,from my circle of friends, you need to have both yours and your husband's birth certificate which would make things easier. If not start the process of getting them from India as soon as possible so that when you deliver you can provide them to your local community office(Gemeinde/Stadt) for your baby's Birth certificate/passport/Permit process. i have heard that the Indian embassy is not up to the standard in Bern and the process would take even 6 to 8 months after baby's birth to get the Birth certificate then passport then the permit. Till then you would not be in a situation to travel anywhere.

Hope this info helps !!

Thanks Gundasi for your information. Anyway i checked with my husband colleague's wife who gave birth to a baby boy here. Still they have not got the birthcertificate.
The procedure is the parents birthcertificates and marriage certificate should be attested by the indian govn. then we need to submit the all the certificates along with the form to the local community office (stadt). So the whole procedure will take a long time to complete.
Now i have decided to go to india for delivery, that will make life much easiler i think.
Thanks once again for the information, people like me will get a good idea about the procedure now with ur information.

Hi Renuka
Congrats on the baby.
Another question you need to ask yourself: do you have family support in Switzerland (other than your hubby?). If not, you need to plan to get your mom or someone to support you.

Their visa, cost of travel etc may be another factor to consider if you want to go through pregnancy here or back in India
