Hi Sarala,

I don't know if this will help but I used to live in Charlotte but now am in New Jersey. However, I still have close ties there (my family and friends) and miss Charlotte like anything.

I used to live around the University area and worked at Vanguard. Where do you live and what do you do?

Hello Ladies,

I will be moving to Charolette, NC by December first week this year from India. This is going to be my first trip to US too, So i am really nervous abt the atmosphere and the surrounding there.

Can Anybody help me out with there sugesstiona and inputs regd the locality and the culture over there, I am having a 3 yrd old son and i need to look out for options for him to keep him occupied. We are also on lookout for apts for Rent , so anybody with their inputs will be really useful for us.

Welcome to the US and to North Carolina!!

Even though I stay in Atlanta (a few hours away from Charlotte), but I've been there a few times. I liked the city very much...in recent years, it has become more and more cosmopolitan...the downtown area is very hep...

For apartments, you can check out Find Apartments For Rent, Rentals, Roommates, Moving Companies and More - ForRent.com. I'm sure you'll get tons of places in there. When I was apartment hunting here, that used to be a major source where I would look.

Since your kid is 3 yrs old, he can join a preK (pre kindergarten) class near by. They have several activities to engage kids.

You can also become a member of a local library (its free btw). Check with them if they have any activities for 3+ kids.
