hi s'pore IL

Y'day i had been to L.india to buy some sweets. OhDear , it costs so much . Seeing the price lists i just stood dump . 9 pieces costs $30 , 24 pcs costs $ 50 ,one box sweets costs $30 -order 10 boxex ,get free home delivery ......!!@!#!!!

Is Celebrating deewali a very costly affair ? Or am i in olden days ? What do u friends do ? any voice??

Happy Diwali.
There is a shop called " AAB sweets" in serangoon road. This is located opposite to the bus stop between Little India Arcade and Mustafa ( further down mariamman temple)
Prices are quite reasonable. Its a branch of Adyar Ananda Bhavan.
Try it out.

There are a lot of ready made Flour like 'babas' murruku mavu,omapodi mavu, urundai mavu, athirasa mavu available in the shops in buffalo st little india.
The results are good.You can buy it. One packet costs between $2 and $4. You can prepare lots of murukus

I do murukku at house with my own recipie, shall try for gulobjamun and other ready mix sweets and savours . And shall let u know what i did.

As chanmu clearly pointed out sweets are very costly here. Even I am planning to make murukku, ribbon pakoda, gulabjamun, rava laddu easy ones like this in small quantities...
Advance diwali wishes to all. lets post after 2 or 3 days as what all we did and how did it turn...

i tried wheat halwa recipe from chituamma's sbs recipe list it came out preety well quiet easy u just need patience for an hour or so. if i can make it so can u all....

u tempt me to give a try this wheat halwa bc we all are really crazy abt thirunelveli halwa ,if not the same atleast something like that. Hmmmm Would like to give a try for sure .
Also anyone who can give ideas to make crispy potato chisps ?
