Hi Abhi,

Thanks for the response..yeah, my daughter turned 3 just 2 weeks ago! She had been keeping me busy both being very active and falling sick often. So, how is life treating you? How is your busy body doing? I guess he is not too old either, just a yr or two older than Gaayathri is it?

Shall catch up with you soon. I hope to get myself out of this dilemma soon

Thanks
Poornima.

Hi Poorni,Suja and all

I had been to Yuva bharathi international school for my brother's son ( recently moved from dubai to singapore) admission and was able to clear some of our friends' doubts.

1.Academics will start from april 2010. There is an orientation program from Jan 2010(optional).

2.As for cbse approval --- They have approval till 10th.Which means they have approval for 1 to 5th also.I saw a lot of parents raising this issue with her and she showed the approval papers to them.

3.The Principal 'looks' young but she has a doctorate in education and has been in this field for almost 15 years.I found her enterprising and spoke with confidence. It seems they have a group of schools in coimbatore for more than 35 years. Looks like basically they are from educational service. Hence, assume , teaching staffs shudnt be a problem for them.

Overall i had a good feeling when i was there. We have also registered for my bro's son.Let's see how they perform.

All the best !

Hi,
This is Rashi here. We have just moved in to Singapore recently. I have two kids aged 8 & 4. I am looking for a good indian school for them. I checked the three existing Indian schools and then ruled out DPS & GIIS for various factors. NPS is good but their fees is too high. I visited Yuvabharathi and liked the atmosphere very much. I am hesitating coz I have no idea about them in India. Are they completely new to the field? Will they be able to do well?As somebody said that they are targeting the Tamil NRIs. If that is so will it become a school where kids from different cultures study together. I heard they are getting all the teachers from India. Is it true? Can we rely on them afterall it is the question of the future of our kids. Being in the teaching profession for 9 years now I know how important the stablity of the school( in the form of studies, teachers ,cocurricular activities etc) is for a child. These are the things I am worried about. Other than that as you said I too had a good feeling about the school when I visited it. If you know anything about their background please let me know.

Rashi

Hi Suja,

a lot for the links. I could find out that they are a good name in the education field and quite reliable also. Only hope they do well.

ya i have herd.

hi, i know fees is very less because they are taking untrained and non B.ed teachers. i would rather pay more and send my child to school where teachers are quallified and trained.

Hi Sangeetha3,
Are you sure the teachers are untrained? Because as per my knowledge it is necessary to employ professional teachers with a degree in education if you have to get the permission from the board. And I am sure they have got the provisional permission to start the school. And also I think its not easy to get the work permit in Singapore if you are not qualified. Just coz the fees is less I think we will be wrong in coming to a conclusion that they are employing untrained teachers.
