Default Is govt restricting on giving long term social visit pass for Parents?

Hi friends,

Iam a PR and have been living in S'pore for the past 2+ yrs..

Recently, I've been hearing that s'pore govt is restricting on period of stay of parents of PR to max of 3 months .. couple of my friends parents who had come here to look after their daughters post-delivery were not given extension after 3 months..

I remember that this was not the case 2 yrs before, where parents used to stay for months together.

Any reason why this change? Is there any way in which we can get extended stay for our parents here? Or is it tat luck plays ?
Iam having my baby due soon and wondering wat to expect

Hi,

Many Wishes on the impending arrival of your baby!

Iam not sure of the LTSVP thing either....in my case i have applied for my parents 3 weeks ago and still waiting for results.

Will update you when results come.

Regds,
Sidd

Hi there.. yeah exactly my sentiments. I am a local here and my hubby a PR here..we have our own business. we applied for just my mum in law the LTVP but also got rejected ..there was no reason for it.. now my husband has applied for citizenship so that he can get them here.

Hi,

Iam worried after reading these facts...

Both me and my wife are working and we have two babies...2 year old and 1 year old...

Only reasonable way to take care of them is by having my parents here...

Both of us are PRs here....hopefully we get LTSVP...

Anybody else with similar experiences - kindly share...

Regds.

Cool Re: Is govt restricting on giving long term social visit pass for Parents?

No I donot really think so... Recently i had been to ICA building to enquire about this. It seems singapore PR can easily apply for long term social visit pass for their parents. some of my friends have applied for their parents and it has gt approved... I think in this case , both husband and wife should be a PR. FOR EX. if wife is not a PR she cant apply longterm social visit for her parents...

Hi,

My parents got their LTSVP approved this week...so it takes roughly around 5-6 weeks for the results to come...

Thanks for your support and advice.

Regds,
Sidd
