I have read many of your other posts in this site. I can understand your 'reminiscence ' about Singapore. And I guess the temple you've mentioned is Sri Dhandayutha pani temple (chettiyar temple) near river valley road. It is one of oldest temple in S'pore & nowadays, many of saivates temples have devaram & thiruvasakam classes. The cost of living has gone up but it is always lively...full of activities. Do visit Singapore. As you know, the country is friendly in welcoming visitors & tourists.

Yes Anu... it's the same temple. I'm not a very religious person (by chennai standards) but the feeling I got in that temple is something that can't be expressed by words. My classes were on Saturday afternoons and the abhishekam used to be just after the lessons. It was really wonderful... and all the small children coming to learn. I think the othuvar is still there... Somanatha Desikar. He has such a captivating voice. He also conducts classes at the other Shiva temple (forgot the name). We came to Singapore once in 2003, then again in 2005 to renew our PR. Even in 2005 I noticed lots of changes, more Indian shops, prices (Yes, up!). We plan to drop by again next year to say hello to friends:) Latha
