how to store the sprouts ?

Hi,

since my stay here,i hav been buying the fresh sprouts frm shops.i buy it in small qty n finish it off fast as they tend to loose their freshness.
but sometimes it happens tht most of the sprouts remain unfinished.i dont know how to store it?
ladies ,pls pour in ur suggestions as to how u store the sprouts to keep it fresh.

I just store in plastic container.. stays fresh for me.

s there r lots of info along with pictures in tht thread.
but i do feel tht home made sprouts stay for longer time,but here the sprouts r almost finger length n go bad easily.so i wanted to know if there any spl ways to store them?

S, presently i do store the sprouts in pastic container,but the freshness s only for 2 days then the 3 day i can c some sprouts getting black.

try to keep them by drying them out as soon as u buy them and then put them in some tissue paper and put them in an container with holes in it.

hi raji,

U just give a try freezing them.It wont take more than a minute to defrost them in water

i do follow the same method of drying n then storing in tissue paper in case of leaves,will hav to try out with sprouts too.

Hi Spandana,
thanks for peeping in .

u hav mentioned abt freezing the sprouts ,but freezing them makes them too coold n as a result after defrost u can c them leave a lot of water n then going bad.as the bean sprots available here r too long it takes all the water in it.
