Smile Moving to Al-Khobar or Dammam

Hi,

I am discussing a job opportunity in Saudi. My office will be located in Dammam. I am married with 2 kids.

If some one can help me with pointwise response below, I will be deeply thankful. (Need a frank feedback & advise.)

1. As an Indian, which location would be best? Al-Khobar or Dammam?
2. What kind of restrictions are there for women?
3. After what age for girls, the restrictions above will be applicable?
4. Does women need to cover only head or entire face?
5. These restrictions are applicable in what kind of places like compound/malls/theaters/gardens etc?
6. What kind of activity places are available in AlKhobar / Dammam for Kids and Housewives?
7. Can Indian women work in Saudi and what are restrictions? What kind of job opportunities available for Indian women in Al-Khobar / Dammam?
8. What is the quality of education in Al-Khobar / Dammam? Indian school is available in which location?
9. What are the typical monthly expenses for family of four -
- House Rent - 2BHK Apartment or Villa
- Schooling expenses per kid (My kids are 7 & 4 yrs old)
- Utility expenses like water, electricity, gas etc.
- Monthly internet charges
- Monthly avg grocery expense including fruits, meat, milk etc
10. Can you suggest some good componds in Al-Khobar / Dammam? Pls provide the link.
11. What kind of facilities available in typical compound? (Like swimming pool, playground, gardens, theaters. malls etc)

Thanks and regards

HI
iam sreedevi living in khobar and working
i will answer point wise to ur queries
ladies shd wear abhaya in all places no need to cover face or head but in some places like during prayer times before mosqes and mall mutawwa will caution u to wear
i heard covering head is strict i riyadh but in khobar it is free
girls i see wearing above 12 years

now a days i saw some working in banks but not for expatriates
internet if u take dslbroad band it is cheaper aroung 150 riyals per month for unlimited download
or mobily 35 riyal for 1 giga
yearly rents vary from 20000 riyals in apartments to 1,00,000 riyals in componds
compund life is good u need not wear abhaya in compund and u hav swiming pools badmintin courts and libraries in compound.ladies will hav free transport of buses during day times
compounds are furnished and electrcity charges and water charges and maintanance are included
u have lot of social gatherings here
indian embassy school is good it is in midway to dammam and khobar
u find lot of indian teachers teaching cbse syllabus
children hav lot of play areas in cornish or beach
it is stretch of 79 km along dammam to khobar with parks and gardens
apart from it u find skating and all types pf games in shopping malls
u get all types of cble tv star package and zee package
car is a necessity here as u do not hav any public transport
if u liv i apartment utiliities u hav to pay ur self but electricity is cheap bill will not exceed 70 riyal per month gas and petrol is also v cheap u can fill ur car tankfull for 20 riyal
a family can comfortably live in 1500 riyal including elec internet etc.if u do not eat out
rent and other things extra
women are paid low salaries not more than 2000 sr \
hope u got answers to your questions
