Need clarification on RP

Mine is a dependant visa based on my husband's sponsorship. Iam planning to leave to India for my delivery and will be returning almost after 5 months from my delivery. Approximately my stay in India will be for 10 months.
I heard from my friend that anyone who carries a valid RP should return back with in 6months or else it will be cancelled.
My RP is valid till 2010.
When i googled up it says that if we stay we need to get permission but it was not clearly mentioned that the permission should be obtained before leaving qatar or after reaching qatar.
If anyone have faced a similar situation please suggest me

Hi Chukku,

You can stay outside the country for more than six months provided your sponsor ( your case your husband, if you are holding dependant visa ) seek the permission of the authorities concerned either in advance or later by paying a fee. This, provided that when you come back your RP is valid for at least 60 days.

Just you need to pay Qr.500/- for each applicant who wishes to stay more than 6 months. This should be done early to their departures from doha, you can go to concerned immigration office where you got issued your visa and fill the application.
Better to do this before leaving country, but your sponsor can also do this before finishing that 6 months period.You can extent it up to one year ,provided that when you come back your RP is valid for at least 60 days.

Just ask your PR he should guide you regarding this.

u will have 2 contact the immigration office near the airport. 1 simple form to be filled in arabic + sponsor's original pp + pp copy of resident + id card copy + a letter reasoning for seeking extension + ofcourse QAR 500/-
